-- Bicycle FAQ/Troubleshooting --

Quick Hiring Facts/Tips/Troubleshooting.

 # Bikes must be locked back to the same station as per terms and conditions.

# Firstly press number 1 to begin. Then instructions tell you to insert credit card. During the process the screen asks you to press the # key function for when you enter a bike number and then to accept the waiver on kiosk.

# Credit Card- With your credit based credit card- Best insertion-Hold the credit card between two fingers like a fake gun hand position. Insert card fully in and out in one motion(do not stop or leave card fully in). If failed then keep trying to  swipe card again focusing on a good swipe. If still no luck try another credit card. Remember charges are only made when screen prompts ''transaction complete collect bike''. If screen freezes keep trying to insert card as a good swipe will give you access.

Sometimes the screen may freeze, if so continue to insert credit card in out and, eventually the system will continue the process- It may take 5-10 extra attempts- Remember the system will only charge you if a bike is released from the system and the timeout function after credit card is used is 2 minutes.

# Only four bikes per credit card can be hired.

# Bike Extraction- Use two hands on handlebars to give one moderate push forward and one pull backwards- sometimes people accidentally push forward again(which will lock the bike). If this happens repeat the process using the same card focusing on one push forward(you might hear a click) then pull out. You will not be charged again by doing this process. If still no luck you can try a different bike number.

#Bike unavailable- Sometimes we lock bikes out of system if damaged, also try wiggling the bike so the sensor may reset.

#Checking/Reporting to Bike server- If this prompt is displayed the system may need rebooting contact us if it stays on screen for more than 2-3minutes. Also some areas may have weak internet signal or telstra might be down for a period of time.

#Bikes damaged- You can actually return the bike into the docking system and then release another bike. You will not be charged again. The system will recognize you have time left on your card. You must first dock the damaged bike first before releasing another though. If a bike is damaged let our team know so we can organise it to be fixed as soon as possible.

#Follow and reread the instructions on the terminal, most questions can be answered this way.

# Bookings- Generally we have a first in first serve system because we dont have staff available to place ''booked'' signs on the bikes. Therefore first in first serve is a fairer option. However we can book bikes for you if you wish - depending on the location. We can hold them in the system overnight (if available-call the night before) then release them first thing in the morning sometime before 9am. Bikes will be released if you do not turn up on time. Must call to book. We can also always check our server to see how many bikes are in the system and how long they are likely out for.

#Helmets and locks and lights are located at the reception areas.

The bike stations are located at hotels, are they restricted to use by hotel guests only?
